Magdalena Rudnicka is a Polish-born, Ireland-based socially engaged artist, educator, and community arts facilitator living in Cahir, Co. Tipperary. She holds a Master's Degree in Pedagogy from the University of Wrocław and has lived and worked in Ireland for over 20 years.
Her practice explores memory, identity, belonging, and human connection through collaborative, participatory art. Working across sculpture, installation, masks, puppetry, and mixed media, she creates projects that place people's lived experiences at the center of the creative process. Magdalena has a particular commitment to working with children, older people, and individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, believing that art can create meaningful opportunities for dialogue, inclusion, and social change.
She is the founder of Crazy Art with Mags, an art tutor at South Tipperary Arts Centre, delivers creative programmes for teenagers at CTC Clonmel, and a Public Programming Artist with Tipperary Town Creative Places. Over the past decade she has developed and delivered numerous community-based projects, including The Real Me, The Colorful Forest, Our Towns Too, An Eventful Day in Tipp, and Building for the Future, many of which were supported by Creative Ireland and the Arts Council.
In 2025, Magdalena was awarded an Arts Council Agility Award for Street Performance and Spectacle and participated in professional development and socially engaged practice mentorship programmes. Her recent work has expanded into large-scale masks, puppetry, and street performance, combining visual art, theatre, and community participation to create immersive public experiences.
Her practice is driven by the belief that art is a powerful tool for building empathy, strengthening communities, and giving voice to stories that deserve to be seen and heard.
