Ballina

I am an artist and educator, formerly based in Glasgow and London and now living in the rural west of Ireland. My work emerges from the experiences of specific bodies in specific places, open to the rhythms, influences and entanglements that connect those bodies to their environment, pasts and potential futures. This close tethering to context and temporality, as well as often choosing to work collaboratively, means that I think and communicate through many different media, creating sculptural installations, performances, publications and moving image.

Nurturing a strong interest in creativity since childhood, I grew a love for design/ textiles and all forms of art.
Growing up in the bush in N.S.W Australia sparked the beginning of my artistic and textiles journey.

Michael Durack grew up on a farm and now lives in Ballina, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. His poems have appeared in publications such as The Blue Nib, Skylight 47, The Cafe Review, Live Encounters, The Banyan Review, The Waxed Lemon, Drawn to the Light, The Poetry Bus, The Stony Thursday Book, The Honest Ulsterman and Poetry Ireland Review as well as airing on local and national radio. With his brother Austin he has recorded two albums of poetry and guitar music, The Secret Chord (2013) and Going Gone (2015).
