Artist Biography

Lucy Moore is a textile artist mainly, but likes working in other media too (drawing, printing, painting, ink making, ceramics, gardening).

A concern for the natural world has lead her to incorporate sustainability and local materials into her practise as much as possible, to highlight their beauty as well as value for biodiversity. She enjoys facilitating natural dyeing and ink making workshops, incorporating a foraging element to these whenever possible. Most recently she participated in the 'Artist in Primary School' scheme where she facilitated the children to learn about bogs through the medium of textiles. She has also participated in Applefest and Culture night events in Tipperary.
She holds a first class BA hons degree in constructed textiles from NCAD (2022) and received many awards for her woven and naturally dyed work, including DCCOI Future Makers for Materials and Sustainability and was shortlisted by the IDI in two categories: Design and Sustainability and the Arts Thread Global Design awards in collaboration with Gucci (textiles category). She also received a Commendation for the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation for her textile work.

She has exhibited with the Irish Guild of Embroiderers: 'Transformations' (2024) and the 'Soulfood' Group exhibition in Clonmel Applefest (2024)'.
