Artist Biography

Patricia moved to Borrisoleigh in North Tipperary in June 2020. She holds an MA in Art Therapy from Crawford College, Cork (now MTU), her practice has a strong focus on Arts in Health. She holds a Fine Art Degree from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin where she specialised in Textile art and artefacts. Patricia is also a qualified graphic designer and worked in Marketing throughout her corporate career. Patricia combines her passion for art practices with her lifelong interest in meditation and psychology. She volunteered on the board of the Sanctuary, Dublin 8 with Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy where she assisted in setting up the Ashram Experience. Her approach aims towards wellbeing and balance in body, mind and spirit. Patricia has 1-1 work experience with post trauma and challenged children in a Deis Primary School and also with young adults and older people in residential care under the Department of Psychiatry, University Hospital Limerick. She designed and facilitated an arts based workshop for a group of vulnerable women in Drogheda Women's Refuge. She volunteered on workshops in Nenagh and Limerick with children with life long physical health conditions via Helium Arts Children's Charity. She facilitated workshops for the 2024 Bealtaine Age and Opportunity Arts Festival with Tipperary Arts Office. She will facilitate an Autumn 2024 series of 5 arts based workshops together with 1-1 sessions for vulnerable people in conjunction with Louth Local Development. Patricia enjoys designing and delivering arts based workshops for groups across all age ranges. She is currently renovating The Old Convent, Borrisoleigh, where she intends to establish her MeditArte practice. Patricia likes to write.
