Nocht Studio

Nocht Studio is an emerging collaborative art practice that focuses on made objects and interactive experiences. The studio was founded in 2018 by Martin McGloin and Philip Ryan with studios and workshops in both Clonmel, Tipperary and Beltra, Sligo. Martin and Philip both graduated from the Dublin School of Architecture in 2013.

Nocht Studio’s existing and ongoing body of work predominantly explores the concept of self and other through perceived human experience in the physical and digital world. Nocht work in the mediums of light, sound, music, and film through installations and made objects. 

Nocht was recently selected for Creative Waterford and Waterford Local Enterprise Office’s Digital Creative Showcase 2023 as part of the Digital Creative Series Events. ‘Timbre Bridge’ was selected for the Art Trail 2023 for the May Sunday Festival by Greywood Arts in Killeagh, Co. Cork. Their piece, “Play?”, was selected for the Inside|Out Exhibition for by South Tipperary Arts Centre & In The Open | Faoin Spéir Festival in 2022. Nocht was selected for ‘New Work’, an exhibition curated by Anne Mullee and held in South Tipperary Arts Centre in 2020.
