Tipperary born Rory Prout's paintings depict remote or rural environments and the quiet traces of the human figure found in them.
He graduated with an M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Art History, Theory and Criticism from U.C.C. in 2015.
His work appears in the collection of the Revenue Commissioners, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as many private and corporate collections in Ireland, the UK, Italy, and Belgium. His awards include the Emerging Irish Artist Residency Award from the Burren College of Art and Painter in Residence for the Irish Embassy in Addis Ababa.
